Business Overview:

Global Low-Carbon Context

Climate change is one of the greatest challenges facing countries worldwide. Measures and actions have been formulated and implemented at international, regional, national and local levels to limit the concentration of greenhouse gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere. Such measures and actions rely on the quantification, monitoring, reporting and verification of GHG emissions and/or removals.

With rapid economic development, China has become a major carbon emitter attracting global attention. China has clearly incorporated carbon emission indicators into the criteria for assessing whether enterprises have advanced or backward production capacity, and phased out outdated capacity based on these comprehensive indicators. More than 80% of enterprises will be brought under government energy conservation and emission reduction management in the future. Enterprises must shift from passive emission reduction to voluntary emission reduction.

Greenhouse Gases

Greenhouse Gas (GHG): Gaseous constituents naturally present in the atmosphere and generated by human activities that absorb and emit infrared radiation emitted by the Earth’s surface, the atmosphere and clouds.

Note: Greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), nitrous oxide (N₂O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) and nitrogen trifluoride (NF₃).

Greenhouse Gas Verification

Greenhouse Gas Emission Verification, also referred to as carbon emission verification or carbon verification, means an independent body reviews the emission report of the verified entity, evaluates the information contained in the report based on available data, and confirms that the emission estimates in the report are appropriate against accessible data. The third-party verification mechanism is one of the core systems of the carbon trading system.

Value of Greenhouse Gas Verification

Manage greenhouse gas-related risks and identify emission reduction opportunities

Improve the efficiency of energy and material consumption and cut operating costs

Build a sound corporate social responsibility image

Participate in greenhouse gas emission trading markets

Avoid future risks of exceeding total greenhouse gas emission quotas

Help obtain more government support

Stay ahead of competitors and strengthen international competitiveness
