Certification Overview (Business Overview)

The EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a core regulatory instrument under the EU Circular Economy Action Plan and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR). It requires manufacturers to digitally register comprehensive product lifecycle information — including composition, origin, carbon footprint, recyclability, and disassembly instructions — linked to each product via a unique digital identifier (e.g., QR code, NFC tag, or RFID). The DPP enables traceability, facilitates circular economy practices, supports customs and market surveillance, and empowers consumers to make informed sustainable purchasing decisions.

NGV provides full-cycle DPP technical services — from product data mapping and carbon footprint calculation to platform registration, unique digital identifier assignment, and archival documentation. We assist enterprises in navigating the data structure requirements defined by EU standards, ensuring product information is complete, accurate, and compliant for registration on recognized DPP platforms.

Scope of Certification

Batteries: All battery types (EV batteries, industrial batteries, portable batteries) — DPP mandatory from 18 February 2026 under the EU Battery Regulation.

Electronics and ICT products: Smartphones, tablets, computers, servers, networking equipment, and consumer electronics — under upcoming ESPR delegated acts.

Textiles and apparel: Garments, footwear, and textile products — requiring material composition, origin, and recyclability data.

Construction products: Building materials, structural components, insulation — under the Construction Products Regulation revision.

Other categories: Furniture, mattresses, tires, chemicals, and food-contact materials — as DPP scope expands through subsequent EU regulatory phases.
