What is an EPD / Type III Environmental Declaration?

It refers to Type III Environmental Declaration established in accordance with ISO 14025. Verified by a third party, it is a scientifically sound, comparable and internationally recognized disclosure of comprehensive environmental impact information covering the product life cycle (from raw material extraction to end-of-life treatment). Environmental impacts include primary energy consumption, abiotic resource depletion, water resource consumption, acidification, eutrophication, respirable inorganic substances, ozone depletion, etc. As one of the environmental labels issued by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), EPD provides strong support for product eco-design, green procurement and green consumption. EPD verification has been successively implemented in Europe, the United States, Germany, France, Japan and other regions, especially in the building materials sector.

A sequence of interlinked stages within a product system, ranging from the acquisition of raw materials from nature or natural resources to final disposal.
